nonchalant and precise, instinctive and considered
To JOSEPH Brook Street for the Autumn Winter'16 London Collections: Menswear Presentation. The pursuit for everyday classics continues, modernised by the search for individuality and personality. The identity of the JOSEPH man develops in an aristocratic environment where he contrasts the refinement of heirloom pieces with urban icons. Seventies silhouettes are revisited with a renegade nineties indie style: a plaid button-down is pridefully fastened to the top, a tailored track pant worn with a shearling coat. Muted, heritage colours are disrupted with shocking tangerine. Integral English fabrics are key: tweed and double faced cashmere, poplin shirting, velvet, twill and wool gabardine. Cavalier combinations emit the raw and tribal attitude of Perry Ogden's Pony Kids: an inside out knitted tracksuit is worn with a snaffle loafer, a camel Chesterfield coat styled with a slouchy flare. The look is nonchalant and precise, instinctive and considered.
